Can i take ginseng if i'm am on plaquenil

So far I have no more energy than when I first started and has developed neuropathy which I have just found out from Web MD that this neuropathy is one of the side effects of this med! Saying that by stopping this it would take another 6 months to build up the benefit. There are other meds that can help with what you are experiencing, and if your doctor didn't address that then I would seek out a second opinion... Please don't stop your plaquenil until you are sure it is the right thing to do and in your best interest.

Aug 23, 2011 Ginseng can interact with other medications and certain illnesses. American ginseng may interact with certain medications used to treat depression called monoamine oxidase inhibitors, or MAOs. Because American ginseng might decrease blood sugar, use it with caution when taking medications for type 2 diabetes. I am sorry to hear you can't take plaquenil, it's a great med and I can't go without it. I have heard toxicity is very rare and usually only happens if you've been on plaq for many many years 20+ or take it in high doses, more than the standard 400 mg. If you contract it, you go to a doctor. Chloroquine is a generally well tolerated drug. As CQ has a host-based MOA, resistance is unlikely to develop. There are some serious adverse effects and contraindications though. Do not take CQ if you have G6DH deficiency, get that checked.

Plaquenil is a 6-weeker as far as the benefits are concerned, but it would be more dangerous to stop if you spend a lot of time outside and if this were the summer. Or maybe another doctor if you're not comfortable w/your current one.

It's not that the calculations are particularly difficult, but, being Americans and using the moronic English system of measurements, it's requires a few more steps than a busy doctor should have to take. Going forward, I'm going to limit my discussion to hydroxychloroquine Plaquenil and women.

Plaquenil can damage the retina of the eye. This can lead to blindness. This problem is most common when high doses are taken for a long time. If you will be taking Plaquenil for a while, it is recommended to have a thorough eye exam before starting it and every three months while taking it. This can be a normal side effect from the plaquenil and it usually lasts a couple of weeks until your body adjusts to it. Try to stick it out, continue taking the compazine but know that that med itself causes drowsiness. You may want to ask for Zofran which doesnt make you as you take it before bed. Jun 05, 2014 I'm sure the Siberian Ginseng is also helping with energy. I think everyone should be taking Cat's Claw though. Will start 2 drops of it tomorrow. I'm hoping the addition of herbs will finally help make me feel better as more than 1.5 years of antibiotics is not getting me better.
